Thank you for the music and have a great afterlife!
Thanks for posting this. I had heard of some but not others. I usually try to watch the YouTube “rock deaths” but I haven’t lately.
You can find a current list of deaths in popular music here -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_2025_deaths_in_popular_music
I then curate it to focus on rock 'n' roll only and profile the ones I know.
Otherwise I don't necessarily hear about someone's passing, and I don't have a way of honoring them.
Plan to do it twice a month, maybe a summary post at the end of the year.
Thanks. The latest was John Sykes. I knew him so that always personalizes it for me.
I'm so sorry. I use google alerts and this was a very nice write-up about him -- https://www.syracuse.com/entertainment/2025/01/80s-rock-star-dies-at-65-he-was-an-incredible-talent.html
It’s hard to keep track of. I try to keep track of musicians in my peer group and with whom I spent some time. That’s how he hit my radar.
The good thing about rock folks is there's such a big fan community so it usually gets publicized when one of them passes. It can be hard to find out what's happened to someone if they're not a celebrity. Google searches ain't what they used to be.
It seems like you have to have specifics when you search. If I knew all that I probably wouldn’t be searching.
